Jetpacks and fat kids...

So I found this picture a while back and it's kind of been haunting me. It's obviously meant for the future when we can in fact use jetpacks to fly around, but you get the point.

Here's why it's haunting me....I'm obviously not happy with myself right now. And in the grand scheme of things, babies probably aren't that far off for the hubster and I and it's started to get me kind of worried. I mean, obviously I'm not going to lose the amount of weight that I want to before I get pregnant. So now, on top of already being chubby, I'm going to be pregnant too. Which, is fine because I want to start a family, but sucks at the same time because it's going to make it that much harder to lose the weight post baby. Not everyone can be a rock star like my friend vanweezy (which is a compliment!)

So if I can't learn to keep myself under control, how the hell am I going to keep my babies under control?! Oh life, why do you have to be so incredibly difficult? Luckily, I've got some amazing moms around me who seem to be keeping their babies well fed and not so chubby they couldn't have a jetpack. I plan on leaning on you a lot vanweezy and doccrocker!

The diet is going okay, but some days, are just bad. I just want to eat carbs and sugar and pig out hard core! If I could dwindle down those days and have more cucumber and fruit days, my life would be a lot better, I know!

Here's the a healthier diet, more exercise and skinny  babies!

Holy off the diet, Batman!!!

Welp, you probably guessed it from the title, but this weekend was BAD as far as health was concerned. I've been taking a break to rest my shin so that I can run and not feel like dying every day. It was going alright but this weekend, I pretty much undid all the work I had put in last week by eating like a crazy person!

It was just too easy to say okay to Mexican food, and fatty fatty goodness. While it tasted good, it was fleeting and I'm regretting not being harder on myself this morning. But, the good thing about life is that it keeps going and today is a new day. One in which I can re-commit myself to be a healthier, happier me and quit eating like the old me.

Here's to a week of healthy choices and good exercise! Hope yours is the same!

Stair what??

Ha, that doesn't even sound like "Say what" but it's funny to me.

So in this episode of trying not to be a fat ass, we are learning to take the stairs! I know, I know,  a lot of people take the stairs all the time. And that's great. I however, do not. I like going UP in the elevator. I'll walk down the stairs all day long, but UP, not so much.

Soooo this week I've decided that I will begin taking the stairs when the opportunity presents itself. Which is mostly at work. YAY!

For some dieting crap updates..

Right, so another big change that I made this week includes giving up caffeine. Typically, I got my caffeine from a Diet. Dr.Pepper in the mornings. But this week, I opted to give it up.

I know that there's "no harm" in drinking diet sodas because they are after all, zero calories. But I just don't think that it's all that great to be consuming caffeine. I could be totally wrong, but I'm going to go without it for a while and see how I feel!

What have you guys done this year in an effort to be healthier?

I just love this....

Weight loss -- it's no joke!

Most everyone knows by now that I've been unhappy with my weight and general lack of body shape other than blob for quite some time now. I try not to talk about the fact that I'm trying to lose weight because I feel like it puts all this pressure on someone to do it and get ridicuously skinny.

But....it's hard. Like SERIOUSLY HARD to battle the scale every freaking day. I mean, do you know how fabulous a taco taste at the end of a long day? Or how amazing ice cream is in the heat of the day? There's all these amazingly wonderful things that you're not supposed to eat because it adds up to too many calories and way too much fat for your own good.

The bottom line is this..I'm tired of being "big boned" or "fluffy" or "maybe she's pregnant" I just want to go back to hot skinny me!

So, the hubs and I made a bet. The bet is no fast food until the end of the year and I have to work out at least 3 times a week. Succeed and I get a new Coach purse....and not from the outlet either! Fail and I get nothing.

So here's to me and that Coach purse! I need it!!!

Sometimes you get sour lemons.....

And then your lemonade doesn't taste so great.

For real though. This is really about my complete lack of self control over the past weekend. Last week, I had done pretty well (okay, I did an OKAY job) of eating healthy and getting back on the weight loss train. Starting Thursday, however, the train was raided by train pirates, derailed, and hit by missile. Ooops.

See, the problem is, I couldn't eat for 2 1/2 weeks. 2 1/2 weeks!!! That's kind of an insane amount of time when you love food. I probably would have only ventured off track once or twice over the past 2 1/2 weeks, which is still manageable, and often encouraged to keep you on track. Instead, I went ape shit crazy and ate whatever I wanted and I'm totally feeling the regret now.

Not only is it going to make me gain back some of the 20 lbs that I've lost over the past few months, but I feel bloated and uncomfortable!

Today is the day that I am getting back into my workout routine and I have to say, it would have been nice to have a nice healthy start to the whole thing instead of feeling like  a lard ass about to try to run. Le sigh.

Moral of the story? Venture off track from time to time. Your body deserves a reward as do you. But, don't let the temptation derail your train.

It's the little things...right?

No big news here, but I did want to share some fun little tidbits. The bff and I have been working on our fitness and our diets by eating healthier and working out. It's been about 3 weeks and the scale has definitely seen some poundage lost, but now there are little things happening too.

I had to put a belt on a pair of jeans out of the dryer.
I had to take a link out of my watch.
Some of my shirts are starting to look way too big.

So, I guess this whole lifestyle change thing is working. That's promising! Here's hoping super skinny Tiffany returns later this year! :)

slow and steady wins the race?!

....this is my new work out technique....thoughts?

Welp friends, it's been a slow start. But, baby steps are still steps. And in my case, they're mostly in the right direction.

I started running yesterday and last week I made it to both pilates classes. I plan on going tonight although I've got a pretty raging headache. Anywho-- the point is, I'm trying. I went to pilates. We got the treadmill set up this weekend so I ran on that last night and plan on running on it again tomorrow -- tonight if I don't go to pilates. Also in my spare time last night. I went to the grocery store and got most of the ingredients on week 1's menu. Should be interesting to say the least.

Anyway -- that's all I've got right now. I'll keep you posted!

Week 1 Report

Welp. Week 1 of being accountable for myself and my hamstermouse body was okay. Weighed in the same this morning as last week, but that's okay, but honestly, I could've done a lot better than I did and I know that going into this week.....so....this week WILL be better.

Not much else to say at this point so there is the update........Feel free to criticize! :) Happy Monday!

FAT BABY MOUSE!

Now that I have your attention............so I'm currently in the middle of a recovery. Recovery from what may or may not have been strep throat and a deadly sinus infection. Okay, okay, not deadly like Deadliest Catch, but deadly to me. I feel like bunghole and I think that should count as deadly. So, for my purposes, it will.

I posted the picture of the fat baby mouse (although I think it's a hamster) because I kind of feel like the hamstermouse lately. I don't think I'm as overweight as the hamstermouse, but definitely weight more than I need to or should. HARSH. Man, it's harsh to say those words out loud.

Anywho....I cam to a revelation while lying on my couch for 7 days (not really 7, but like 5) while coughing out my insides and praying that my throat would stop burning so bad.....I need to live a healthy lifestyle. SERIOUSLY. Is it going to change the fact that I get 100 sinus infections a year? Well..maybe not that seems to be more anatomy than anything else, but it might help with the mental health, with the tiredness, and the general lull that I feel every day about this time. And hey, if nothing else, it'll get me into nice pre-baby shape so that when it is time for baby making, I can feel good about the body that my baby is going to live in for 10 months.

So, here's what I promise to my 5 readers: I will update you once a week. I'm not going to tell you starting weight and all that (unless I get super skinny and then maybe) but I'll tell you if any pounds were lost that week and what I think I could've done better for the week. Deal? And what you do my faithful five is tell me where you think I should pay more attention. It's going to be a slow start pals, probably mostly eating habits followed by exercise habits, but we'll get there. I think this was the final wake-up call that I needed. I can't keep pretending like Taco Bueno is good for you. It's just not. No matter how you cut the cheese. (pun intended!:))

So.... I weighed myself this morning and it sucked. But so far, I've had a granola bar, some chips (bad robot) and 1/2 cup brown rice, 1/2 chicken breast and 2 spears of asparagus. Other than the chips, the day is going pretty well. I plan on having salmon and some veggie for dinner. Maybe couscous but probably salad or something.

Anywho...I think Mondays or Sundays will probably be the day for updates. We'll just have to play with it and see how it goes.
